If you guys are disturbed by that then stay away from the manga, which is more in-depth and graphic than the anime by a large order of magnitude. Opening your minds wouldn't hurt either.

I still say that grifith is a chick, I refuse to believe that any male could pissibly be that womanly, and by the same token, I still say caska is a guy. come to think of it what was the point of all the shemale type characters in that anime anyway?

I can't belive that any of you people can actually say these things and still claim to like anime. I've read one or two of the mangas and seen the series and I thought it was fantastic. By the way the protagonists name isn't Gatz or Guts it's GATSU and he was class. Griffith had to be good lookin' because he was supposed to look innocent but be deceptive, duh.

So in answer to the original question, Berserk is about a guy, Gatsu and his quest for a purpose for his life with very gory and damn cool consequences. Anyway I'm with iserlohn you people are myopic and if you don't like excessive blood then what are you doing watchng this kind of anime?

I never said I don't like blood. I don't care one way or the other about blood content in an anime. I just didn't think Berserk was that great. And that, my freind, is personal opinion, and as such, cannot be inherently right or wrong.

lol i didnt mind the blood .. the story was damn cool (if not twisted toward the end of the anime) what i mentioned i could not stand was the gay undertones ... the one with griffith and Gatsu in the fountin and the one with griffith sleeping as a prostitute with the government official to fund his mercenary group.

Even that didn't bother me, though it was disturbing, that wasn't why I didn't care for the show. Don't get me wrong, the show was okay, it just wasn't my thing. The storyline was okay, but I hated the vast majority of the characters. Judeau was the only one I really liked, and there were a few I was indifferent to, and then a lot I hated. I hated Griffith, I hated Caska, I hated Corkus.When SPOILERS:

Corkus died and Caska got violated at the end, I was most pleased, since I hated both of them.

lol .. sounds like my hate fo shinji .. god i hated that charecter .. but only one out of all of them i trully couldnt stand was corkus .. he was a bastard from start to finish with no explanaition as why.

Look are you some sort of homophobe or something? Seeing as Japanese bath together and nudity is no big deal then it's not urprising that they are comfortable being in the buff around each other. Also it's a facdt of life that aul' creepy old men such as Govenor Gennon fancy young attractive, slightly affeminate men such Griffith.

actually yes i do find it uneasy to be around those attracted to the same sex... and it wasnt masculine when geiffith started slowly walking toward gatts .... it looked like he was about to purposely drop the soap

I think that it's just the way he walks, he always walked like that maybe you didn't notice because of the armour.

I also hated Corkus, he was a pointless character and I thought he should have died earlier, however I don't know what's wrong with Caska. Griffith is a confusing character, I still can't really figure out whether or not he is inherantly good or not.
