Re: Anime Expo 2012 AMV Contest - (EZ Rules) DEADLINE: MAY 5
So when are digital files checked and downloaded? I want to submit my form, but one of my videos is not completed yet. Are files checked immediately upon receiving the entry form, or on the 5th?

If you submit a trailer to the Fun category, are you allowed to have a parody of the MPAA green screen? Does that count as a lead in? Also, if your studio logo is actually a component within your video (not actually a lead in), would that still get you disqualified?

You may use a parody version of an MPAA lead-in banner. It must make no mention of the MPAA or its trademarks.kireblue wrote:If you submit a trailer to the Fun category, are you allowed to have a parody of the MPAA green screen? On a side tangent, here's a fun little-known fact: "Green Banner" MPAA lead-ins are for trailers that have been approved for viewing by general audiences. The seldom seen "Red Banner" lead-ins are for trailers that are NOT approved for all audiences (basically, the trailer equivalent of an 'R' rating).

I'm starting to get a handful of videos where the creator decided to write a URL to a rapidshare or 4shared site rather than spend a few extra nickels to include a CD. Which is fine, it's permitted the rules.
But if you're gonna do that, you better send it extra early.
Why? Well, let me paint a picture: Rapidshare lately has been taking two hours to download a 300mb file, and that's assuming the transfer doesn't bomb out, in which case I have to start from scratch. Oh, and it has a limit on how many files you can download per hour.
If I get a lot of those, this will not end well.
So do me a favor and plunk down the extra few cents to include a disc. Please. PLEASE.

What about mediafire or a dropbox public link? Would those work better?
Unfortunately, I am unable to go to the post office just to send it. <<
I do have outgoing mail where I can send the form only, but to go in, have it weighed and whatnot... yeah, no time.

My suggestion would be to upload it to more than one cyberlocker. That way if one is being a failbag, I can try the other.Kazemon15 wrote:^

mailing a cd and entry form in a simple bubble wrap lined envelope has always been under $2 for me. you might try sticking $2 worth of stamps on it and mailing it that way...Kazemon15 wrote:^

Even if you do send a CD you may have to send some links. Hope you enjoy that vid Troy.
