Anime Los Angeles 2012 AMV Contest - NOW WITH WINNERS!!!

Post by MikalSaltveit » Wed Nov 02, 2011 1:30 pm

From the official ALA website http://www.animelosangeles.org/wp/2011/amv-contest-3/
The AMV (Anime Music Video) contest takes place on Friday. Anime Music Videos consist of clips from one or more anime series or movies set to songs. They are made by fans because they have a passion for an anime/song combination that drives them to show that vision to audiences.

All of our contestants are fans just like you who have worked hard all year to create the videos we will be showing off Friday evening. There are many
awards that can be won.

Audience Categories:
◦Crowd Pleaser / Best in Show / Audience Fav
◦Best in Category (Action, Drama, Comedy, Pro) EDIT: Dance

Judging Categories: (Voted on by our panel of Judges)
◦Best Produced
◦Judges’ Favorite

Additional Awards:
◦Creators' Choice (Voted on by the contestants)
◦Staff's Pick (AMV Staff pick their favorite entrie(s) )

Our Judges are:
Ed Hooper
Amy Horswill
Victoria Shapero
Lauren Cook
Mystery Judge (Every year we fill our fifth spot with a mystery person!)

Check out the AMV site for more info and to submit your entry: http://alaamv.info
Hope to see you there!
There have been a few changes to the rules so please check them out before submitting to be sure your video qualifies.

We now accept videos all the way up to December 31st at midnight! This is an "in my hands" date, not a mail by date.

Videos in my hand by December 10th will be used in the Category Intros. Videos received after the 10th will not be used in the Category Intros but may be included in the overall intro video.

If there are any questions please post in this thread
For issues of a more personal nature feel free to e-mail us at AMV12@alaamv.info

Thak you for reading,

Any online submissions available?

I didn't see that on the submission forum anywhere.

That means we will be accepting entries up to December 31st. I have streamlined the pre-judging and contest-creation times such that I only need a few days to finalize the contest.

However, if we receive enough quality entries to fill up the contest before the 31st, we may decide to finalize the contest at that point.

There are two steps to entry submission:
1. You have filled out the submission form
2. I have received the entry.

I would recommend completing both steps by December 10th. Completing just the first is normally enough to reserve your space. It really depends on how much time I have to work on the contest pre-convention. I know it will take me at least 4 days.

In the contest rules, section 3.2.a E-mail a link to your video file to AMV12@alaamv.info
If you really need help we may be able to set up an FTP or other upload page. Its going to be slow and require a constant QUALITY internet connection for the entire upload.

Probably not going to enter this year, but I'll see if I can stop by the con and hang out. :)

The main ALA AMV site is www.alaamv.info
I don't control what is posted to the main site. The ALA webmaster has been sent the content to post it, and it should be on the main ALA site soon. But everyone should go to the AMV site for their info as it is most frequently updated.
