Anybody tried this host for AMVs?

Post by Pr0crastin8r » Mon Dec 16, 2002 8:41 pm

The deal fell through. See my post about bandwidth leasing to know what I'm talking about... anyway, the site I was gonna get the hookup from for free (because i know someone who knows someone who knows the owner) is <a href="https://secure.lunarpages.com/tracking/ ... ges.com</a>. I haven't tried them myself but my friend has (and he is VERY satisfied), and every review I have read has been positive. nobody complains on their forums either.

standard plan $7.95/mo
-300MB space
-20GB/mo transfer
-ftp account
-email (unlimited)
-no file size limit
-no filename restrictions
-a crapload of other features

premium plan $22.95/mo
-600MB space
-60GB/mo transfer
-ftp accounts (25)
-email (unlimited)
-no file size limit
-no filename restrictions
-a crapload of other features

i think setup is free w/ a 12 month plan... but you might wanna try it for a month first b4 plunging in. has anybody else here tried them?

This post belongs in the "Heads Up" forum under the off topic I believe.

Really.... For US$22 a month I can get...

-500MB space
-4000GB/mo transfer
-ftp accounts (999999)
-Webmail (999999) No such thing dude as Unlimited
-no file size limit
-no filename restrictions
-a crapload of other features

For US$7 a month...

-100MB
-4000GB/mo transfer
-ftp Accounts (999999)
-Webmail (999999)
-no file size limit
-no filename restrictions
-a crapload of other features

All this has been already certified and proven for AMV use, I have already burned 40GB and I'm still going. Yep, I won't blame you, I also had a deal that fell through, but luckily I found a better host :)

Dude, I feel for you and all, but I cant subscribe to your service now because I already have a host, if you have been here 5 months ago it would have been you all the way, but as it stands Ive already paid for a year with an inferior provider. Sorry.

Okay, Okay, it's a Singapore Company and is just a 15 Minute Journey by car from my house. It uses DataOne Asia's Data Centre http://www.d1asia.com.sg/ and is Tucows certified. I discovered it by freak accident when I was looking for a Singaporean Host and I discovered that I had been passing by it's HQ for 4 years from School without knowing that this Ultimate Salvation was just next door... But I'm not going to reveal it's name!!!!!!

Actually, alot of Webhosters in Singapore offer Unlimited Bandwidth due to the fact that most of them use Data One, it's sorta Governemnt controlled so no monkey business. I can name you a few other S'porean Unlimited Bandwidth Hosters (But they aren't the one I'm using :twisted: )
*Note* Some Singaporean Webhosters don't cater to people outside of S'pore, most of them think catering to ppl outside of S'pore is a liablility

http://www.iwi.com.sg/services/webhosting/unix.asp
http://ee.com.sg/ *Note* I almost wanted to use these guys but found that their capabilities were rather limited though prices were kinda attractive... At first :)
http://www.sindur.com/html/linuxhosting.html
These guys are also very attractive but I don't think they want to do business outside of S'pore.

Tell you what guys, it's alot safer and cheaper to order through me, I live here so I can physically go down and pay for my Space by cash. And I'm also given a reseller's account so I can offer at a much cheaper rate than those hosters stated above, definately much cheaper.

Most intriguing... although I may let my one-month tenure as past of the bandwidth test lapse, I think I'll be more'n interested in coming back once I have more of my ducks in a row and know how much idsposable in come I have for hosting.
