Since we were asked to put a theme to the awards this year, this year's awards theme is Neon Genesis Evangelion! Hope you like it.

Also, this year's custom category is The Pen Pen Award for the Best Short Video (videos 60 seconds and under).

I should point out that the ALT texts (that describe the categories) for Best Collaborative Video and Best MEP both get cut off after the word "distinct" in Opera 11. SQL problems perhaps?

The announcement is now up. Sorry about the delay on that.

On the mass e-mail, we sent one announcing the VCAs last week. You should be made aware, however, that there were some networks and members who marked the e-mail as spam, so it's possible that the e-mails did not pass your mail network's spam filter. If you did not receive the VCA e-mail, check with whatever network manages your e-mail first to make sure that they aren't blocking our e-mails. If they aren't, send an e-mail to Admin and we'll look into it further.

This may be a stupid question, but what does the theme mean?
"this year's awards theme is Neon Genesis Evangelion!"
can one only nominate AMVs with that anime? o.O

No, the titles of the categories have an NGE theme. See the names of the awards in the threads below this one and you'll understand.
