:? Uhh...yeah. The lack of war is a problem alright...........yeah. :?

I one day could see mecha like the one in gundams be around and be used in war. but not at our curnt tech leval. come on was have to agree that durning the time of Gundam wing the they had colonis on other planets. but hte mechas would have prouble be better fighting than takes because they are more balacne in tanks in ways they could be used

(resists urge to run that through BabelFish)

Tanks are still more mobile and tactically flexible than a Gundam-sized robot. I have no idea to calculate the ratio of tanks to mobile suit in terms of cost and support structure (i.e. how many tanks could you buy and support for the cost of one Zaku?) but I'd be willing to bet those tanks could take out the Zaku easily with minimal loss.

Agree with an earlier point: a small powered armor suit (exoskeleton, frame, what have you) would be great in urban warfare or broken terrain where tracked or wheeled vehicles must be in the open in order to move. If any old-schoolers have seen MADOX-01, there's a very nice scene at the beginning where a MADOX suit takes out three or four tanks in a test run in just such a setting.

in case any of you are wondering they are looking for ways to right now to make small exo suits for soilders. One reason is with all the techlogic advance ments for soilder the biggest problem that the maximuin amout of weight they can carries can not increase. (I believe rigth now is somehting like 80 pounds dont hold me to it) and an powered exosuit would allow them to carrily a lot more wait. it would not surpise me to see somehting like the suist from starship troopers. if any of you have read the book the suits would make lifeting a car a piece of cake

Lol I think we can all agree on the small exo skeletal suit Idea. Once again a Gi joe toy. I forget what it was called but it was an exoskeletal suit that cobra had.

Why don't you build a mech, Mroni? I'm sure you could get all the parts you need from the garbage. Then wreak havoc while crying "Lum-channnn! Lum-channn!"

Ah yes, the SNAKE battle armor. Short for "System: Neutralizer - Armed Kloaking Equipment".

Yes but what to call it. Yechiganger? I could make it out a john deere loader and 3 40 yard cans and fill all the electronics in with Commodore 64 and Xt parts.

and lets not forget the ever important duct tape and popcicle sticks.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab
