Too Long?

Post by Kousaka » Mon Oct 18, 2010 8:59 pm

Okay, for once, I've decided to enter AKROSS Con this year.
The song I've chosen is 5 minutes, 31 seconds. I have no problem with editing the whole thing but I think people would get bored if its the same song for 5 minutes. So, what I'm asking is, do you think that's too long? :uhoh:

Depends on the song type and how you edit it. (Auriga is 5:16 long). If you feel the song is able to keep people engaged then it should be fine imo.

My homie ReggieSmalls just released a 10 minute vid last week and it kept me and others entertained the entire time. Even though it's impossible to enter a vid that long in a contest (at least any I know of) I'm sure his thoughts while making this video wuz to just make it for himself and you should have the same attitude for yourself, if you truly desire to create this video for yourself and enter it in this competition then do so and have others' thoughts about the length of it come second. Like Kariudo said if you can keep the audience engaged that long thru your editing then it should be no problem. Don't let second thoughts keep you from editing this and entering it, chances are it may be one of the highlights of the show or even win a category.

Ebert has said it before me: “No good movie is too long and no bad movie is short enough.”

well it depends i think :3
if you plan to do a lot with it, change things up, keep the mood floating differently all the way through go for it!

if your going to edit at a simple tone, nothing much changes, i would either short it or find soemthing not as long, you want to make sure your viewers enjoy your video, and no get tired of the same thing happening over and over (unless you can find some ways to keep it fresh)

basically too if you think you can pull it off and are going to have fun with it, do it for that reason as well

hope that helps!
cant wait to see your video in AKROSS
