It's all getting forced into MPEG2 to go onto a DVD (probably above the DVD spec though). It's best to get it to me in a form that's less likely to get garbled as a result.Your video must be encoded in one of the following formats: Uncompressed (only if you have to), Lagarith, HuffYUV, MPEG2, (H.264) MP4. No Quicktime, no RealPlayer, no WMV, no exceptions.

7 more days for mail-ins
17 more for FTP submissions.
I'm going to be @ AWA Thursday to Sunday, so my email checking will be limited to a couple times a day at most. Keep those FTP requests coming. Also, if you're having an issue uploading or haven't gotten a response to your FTP request let me know.

3. Resolution must be 640x480 or higher.
Does that mean that I can participate with 1280x720 video? Or should I resize it?

Re: Another Anime Con 2010 [FTP Deadline 10/1]
You can, but i'm going to be resizing back down to 720x480 0.9PAR MPEG2 to fit on a DVD. If you want don't to trust the quality of that scaling to the TMPEG DVD authoring tool i'm using then i'd suggest resizing it yourself. Sending the smaller file also saves time with the uploading process (and my subsequent downloading of it from the FTP) so that's a plus too...theDarkSite wrote:3. ok then, I'll resize it myself, I'll skip you the trouble of resizing it ^^BasharOfTheAges wrote:You can, but i'm going to be resizing back down to 720x480 0.9PAR MPEG2 to fit on a DVD. Re: Another Anime Con 2010 [FTP Deadline 10/1]
OK - Mail-in deadline is passed. But since I check that mailbox every day so often, anything that gets to me before my prescreening on 10/3 will make it into the prescreening.
Anyone that wants an FTP account should request it now. Anyone that's still working, you're cool, i'm not trying to rush you. Anyone that's done and hasn't uploaded yet, please do so now so the server doesn't slow to a crawl on the 1st (Last I checked, I have a dozen people that haven't uploaded everything yet, and I'm sure last minute requests are going to come in too). Last year, so many people waited until the end that a small number of upload errors didn't get caught in time to be fixed and the videos had to be DQ'd.
Finally, anyone else who's interested in submitting is encouraged to. I want a record number of submissions this year so I can actually provide content for an overflow that may have already been blocked out on the schedule.
