Unless you saw it happen frame-by-frame using a DVD. Advice given on the commentary. The explosion of herself was like 2 frames or something, so you saw her lying there, then parts of her in the corners of the screen. Not that I'm happy to see her get blown up...

Gah, you guys are sitting here talking about the true meaning of Eva and crap, and I read and I've never even seen EVA.

What a good way to ruin the story for myself, huh? :)

Oh well, I gotta go fetch the dubs/fansubs I have upstairs, and I'll be watching NGE soon.

I'm sorry, but "Shinji did/didn't choose instrumentality" has to be the most un-spoilerish giveaway I've ever seen, especially considering that the whole thing only makes sense in retrospect.

Anyway, I think it's obvious how they could do an Eva sequel. See, it turns out that the Angels aren't really apocalyptic forebearers, but terribly misunderstood aliens from a far off realm of space, and a new batch of Eva pilots have to hunt each one of them down and collect them in order to power-up for the upcoming battle with the Decepticons....

YOU ARE DA MAN!
They all die so who freakin' cares!

Still, I have to admit that to see a planet sized naked Rei suck up my world is probably one of the "better" ways to die...

Whoa. Can you actually read this? It's just strange to see a german text on this board, and then such a text... ^_^

Ehhh.... I suck at languages. Used to be fluent in German, but I've lost all my vocabulary. Still love Kafka, but in English translation all of his works sound stupid. I keep a copy of his works (auf Deutsch) handy for inspiration.

German is actually one of the easiest European languages. That and the fact that it's quite similar to Dutch makes it easy to read for me.
