HELP!!!!

I've made several music videos before, but never shown them or entered them in contests or anything; they were really just practice at editing and whatnot. Just recently, I finished what I feel is a masterpiece (for me anyway). My friends love it and have coaxed me to enter the Anime Boston video contest. I got really excited about it and am pledging the next two months to refining and prepping my work.

But I just searched here for people entering the Anime Boston one and someone's using the same song I am. Would it be a good idea to enter anyway? I'm using a completely different Anime than this person is. I know I can enter all sorts of cons all over the place, but I kinda had my heart set on going to my local con with my friends and seeing my work on the screen.

Any advice would be great, thanks!

Well, if its a different anime/concept than the other video I'd say go for it. 100%
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

Sure, send away. Don't ever let the fact that others have used the same sources stop you from showing others your own vision. Just because some things are similar doesn't mean that the video themselves aren't original.
