It took about four attempts to get a local video and the speed is like 6kb/s. I can't honestly recall the last time local was this slow.
In addition, I can get fast speeds from elsewhere, so I don't think it's me.

This morning right before leaving for class (about an hour or so after Kionon made this thread) I tried downloading a video and was getting about 1.6MB/s.

Could it have been that I am very, very far away from the server? I have never gotten anything above 100kb/s, and that rarely. 1.6MB/s? My max speed is 10mb/s
