... Death Note's second opening. I really enjoy the effects in that and would love to recreate it. Could someone explain to me how it's done please? It looks really complex.

It's mostly pretty simple stuff actually (which is probably why there have been at least 4 or more parodies of it).
You can do it all with Adobe After Effects and a bit of creativity. Are there any parts in particular that you don't understand?

Just all the masking thats involved etc. Also I like the bullet bit the most.

There have been a lot of threads about how to do masking. Try looking through the video software help forum, or there might even be a few threads in here.

I think that Alan meant creativity as in the actual mental process and not as a plug-in.
