Christian Music AMV Contest

Post by LibertyMusic » Wed Sep 23, 2009 9:50 pm

Hi!

We will be releasing an independant (yes!) Christian Music CD for an artist. One of the songs on it would be perfect for an AMV. As a small company, we couldn't dream of hiring a big firm to do such a thing. But there is a lot of talent out there and maybe someone would like the recognition.

We're not releasing details of the content yet, but the song is an upbeat story about a character that might look something like a Jimminy Cricket. It's a fun story.

The winning video would be promoted internationally and be shown to youth groups and churches. It might also be included on the CD (some enhanced CD format) or possibly posted to the artist's official website.

The song is about 5 minutes long.

I've seen some dynamite fan-submitted Christian music AMVs. The top two best I've seen are for the band apologetix:

1. Jonah Jonah

This video shows extremely clever mastery of "cinematography." As in camera angles, perspective, depth of field, etc. The art work is nice, but it's not earth shattering, and it doesn't have to be. The cinematography is so outstanding that it looks very professional. We've tried to contact the people who made that videp but their site is down and they've evaporated.

2. Baa We're Lambs

Nice use of "camera work" and about as clever as the song would let you get. We were able to reach this author and have told him about the contest, maybe he'll chime in.

Contest rules:

1) If you're interested contact us and show us what you've done, if anything.
2) We'll send you a demo version of the song that WILL CHANGE in length, format and style before we're done.
3) We'll also send you an excerpt of it around :30 for you to build your contest video around
4) If we get more than a few submissions, we'll pick the best three and invite them to build the complete video
5) The final video might need to be in HD
6) We'll have a small focus group of fans judge the winning video

All any of us is really going to get out of this is some new recognition on an international scale, and satisfaction of a fun project, but there might be a small surprise jackpot :)

OK, step 1: if you're interested in sharing your talents in this contest, email us at AphesisMusic@gmail.com with your info, and any link to anything you've done and we'll get those song snippets out to you!

God bless and have fun!

Ok, clearly the music will be christian, but does the video have to be? Or can we go for dark irony of showing cruel mass murders to christian music?

Wait let me get this straight.

You expect a bunch of internet/anime geeks to respect religion?

Especially with the Ninth God here?

There are a few, thank you very much. =P

I'd be interested maybe, but my schedule is packed.

It might need to be?

Wasn't anime from the devil?
1) If you're interested contact us and show us what you've done, if anything.
I'll send in my Marilyn Manson amvs...

ok jokes aside: It's nice to see such a contest even if I'm clearly not the fan of christian music.
It might also be included on the CD (some enhanced CD format) or possibly posted to the artist's official website.
I hope you're aware that there is a big fat copyright problem with amvs and that there is no chance of commercial use of it.
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases. :amv:
