I found it pretty easy to adjust to Final Cut after using Premiere Pro for so long.

I dunno how it works vice-versa though.
Welling going from Motion to AE was an easy adjustment for me, so I bet going from FCP to PP would be easy to.
Oh it's not so bad. Just a bunch of difference. Like where things are. Just small things that'll take some getting used too. You know, old habits and such. I keep looking in the wrong places for stuff.

Actually... the more research I do, unless you're like me and have dedicated macs set up for specific purposes, Premiere 6.5 isn't a good choice for most current mac users. It was never updated by Adobe to go past 10.3.9, and so with an Intel, you are very unlikely to finesse 6.5 into working. I've managed it in a, if you will pardon the pun, very spotty way. Enough to finish my current projects, but not something I want to do on a regular basis. On a PPC that is your only computer, you probably rely too much on current technologies in order to go back to Panther after Tiger or Leopard. Especially Leopard. In this case, FCP is probably your best bet indeed. However, if you can spare a G4 for 10.3.9, I say deeew eeeet. Premiere 6.5 is so lightening quick on a decently fast single G4 with 1GB of ram or more. If you have dual G4s, a G5, or dual G5s, you're in for a treat... Compared to FCP and and Premiere Pro, I feel that actually, 6.5's interface is a lot less daunting than it seemed ten years ago when I initially started working with it. I think it is a good, powerful editing suite that can still offer a lot.

On a PC though?

6.5 4 lyfe, wohd toh yah mutha.

It isn't the PPC, it's the OS. I had the... displeasure of using 6.5 on OS 9 once. Nothing to write home about. However, 10.3.9 was the last supported version by Adobe, so I have it running beautifully.

Yea, makes sense. Pretty sure they were on 9 back then.
