Animated,I thought you were supposed to be studying for the upcoming final exams...

To the point now,I like the idea.An Olympic-style amv contest with participants from each country and national songs.
Though anyone believes that USA,France and Russia pretty much rule the amv world,I suppose we could give it a try.

My proposals:

MEP Title:"Olympic AMVs" (or "Ascend to Olympus")

1) We create teams of 3 (or 5) editors which will be nationality based and not amv studios based.
a)Since USA has many states with exceptional editors we can split them into states (Chicago,New York,Koop-land,etc.).Same goes for whatever country wishes to split its editors into fractions...
b)If you can't find any more persons from the same country then alliances between different countries are permitted.Of course,in order for this to happen,the editors from the country that will be lending its help to another should agree to this.

2) We decide on a committee,with 1 member from every country/state participating in the event.
The person who will participate in this committee shall be chosen from the editors of the country and has to prove that he/she knows lots about editing.No noobs when it comes to judging.These persons will not participate in the editing process,they will be like supervisors of their team,apart from judges.

3) The contest may be split in 2 parts.

a)The first part will be 1 vs. 1 amv fights between countries,but not IC ones.We shall give the editors a bit more time (2 weeks maybe?) for making a more serious project.
To be more precise,the committee decides on 3 genres of amvs (comedy,drama,action,etc) and announces them to the countries.Then each country decides which editor will edit which genre of amv.In other words, we will have 3 amvs against 3 amvs,but each one will be of a different genre.
To come up with the exact number of rounds we shall know how many countries and states are eager to participate.As it is natural,we can't have too many rounds so there is always the option of early elimination due to not keeping the time limit or a sudden death as a bonus privilege to the judges who will take notice of the behaviour of each country (I'll leave the reasoning behind such actions up to you - we can always come up with interesting ideas ).

Winner of each round will of course be the country that gets at least 2 out of 3 wins.The winner proceeds to the next round where the committee will decide on a different mix of genres of amvs to edit with.

If there's a lot of participants,then we end up with (let's say) the top 8 countries and move on to the second part,which can stand as a different project or as a continuation of the 1st part.

b)The second part will be the major event and here we can have 2 options.

b1) In case the 1st part has a definite winner,the major event is irrelevant with the 1st part and all countries/states begin from the start and make their national project.They choose a national song, with a duration of less than 4 minutes, and edit it.Here the time available to editors is a bit more than in the 1 vs. 1 fights (1 month maybe?).The videos are put into a folder,given random numbers and passed up to the judges.Each judge cannot rate his country's amv but will also be unaware of which country edited which amv (to avoid being subjective due to friendships etc.).

b2) In case the 1st part catches up to a top (enter number) countries,the major event is the continuation of the 1st part.The winners of the 1st round compete against themselves in the same way I described in b1.The rest of the countries who got eliminated also get a major event.So,we get 2 groups,the strong ones and the weak ones,and also 2 prizes.
The judging is done in the same way.

Important:The judges will not do any beta-testing so as to be completely unaware of what the vids will be.

Prizes,banners and such can be decided later on.Same goes for the technical details.Let's see if we can even organize something of this caliber.

ps:I just mentioned an organization of a contest that seems feasible to me if we show some good will.Still,I have never helped in organizing any type of amv contest so I'd be glad if someone with more experience offered a helping hand.
