- and play the video

It sounds silly, but by doing that, you are not seeing the clips as much as you are seeing how the video changes in relationship to the music. If you've made a mistake, your brain will pick it up.
sounds like the force is strong with this one. come to the dark side
I actually do something similar when I'm drawing...I put the picture up on a shelf upside-down and then avoid looking at it for a few hours. When I do, any errors I need to fix are automatically obvious to me...the upside-down thing lets me see it objectively. :P

Yes and no.

I have AMV ideas every time I listen to a song. I've been doing this for so long, that's simply the way my mind operates. Most of these ideas I really just don't give a damn about enough to even move to the storyboarding phase. Actually, I need to be stronger. Almost all of these ideas never make it to the storyboarding phase. Typically if an idea movies to the storyboarding phase, it will then be worked on. A few I will lose immediately upon realising that what I have storyboarded doesn't exist in the original source and it is beyond my ability to reanimate the entire video. A few I will lose because the execution of the idea bores me once I actually see it come together. A few I will lose because I don't have the skills to complete the video. Someone else on the org could probably succeed, but for whatever reason, I cannot. Those that make it through that become videos that will be done, will be finished, but may take years to be completed. This is why I only average about one or two videos per year. The videos I complete are by no means new; they actually date to years prior to their release date.

So while I do get ideas all the time, It does not really become an issue, since 99.9% of ideas will fail almost immediately, and another .09% will fail after storyboarding for the reasons mentioned above. Thus my backlog at the moment, going all the way back to 2001 is only about eight videos.

I used to do that... now I just don't listen to new songs anymore *_* my playlist has remained the same for the last 3 years.

I have so many ideas and yes, they fight for victory in my mind. But what really gets started is whatever is the most convenient out of all the ideas. Such as: do I have this anime... do I have this song... type things. I place all ideas on same priority because I believe that all ideas can blossom in their own ways.

I have many ideas, but since I suck so much I don't even bother anymore. :book:

your lack of motivation is astounding. No really, I wish I had that (some call it common sense... a trait I lack). I note every stupid idea that pops into my head lol. And do 70% of them (even if they're done before, I can do anything better than you can- no I can't... but w/e). My backlog dates to 2001 and numbers in the 100's. I could name you a few :/. And even as I edit I typically come up with a few more. It's REALLY insane. in my brain.
