Can someone tell me what this is from? (I think it's old.)

This is a still from Lostboy's Rhythm Animation video, actually, but can anyone tell me what this is, or anything about it?

...and if so, would it have been around in early 1995?

Long story, which I'll get into if anyone can identify it.

That's from Ranma... I'm not sure when it takes place though, but that's definitely Mousse.

Isn't it?

I'd be more helpful, but I haven't seen all of Ranma yet.

That looks like it's from the Ranma movie 'Nihao my Concubine'...but it could also be from Big trouble in Nekonron China.

It's gotta be from one of the movies, I just can't remember which one ^_^

Well, I thought maybe looking up the video would give me a clue, but unfortunately, Lee didn't list which Ranma feture he used.. he just listed "Ranma 1/2"

It's a long and weird story, but in short, that shot (there's a twirly sequence before it, then that) matches a description somebody gave me of an anime character in early '95. (That was before I started watching much myself.) I thought he was making it up, but I happened to glimpse that shot, and it fit. And I've always wondered what the hell the guy was raving about.

Ranma makes sense, as it would've been around then, and is well-known enough to have reached a small town in the US before anime was as widespread as it is today.

So. An 8-year-old mystery is solved, I think.

...ahaha. Now I must go back in time eight years and punch that dude. The reason it even came up back then was that supposedly I reminded him of an anime character.

Who I now see is a guy. :p (Who admittedly has a superficial resemblance to me in high school, but STILL.)

Who needs a time machine? Track him in the present and introduce him to Mr. Glock or a katana like Bruce Willis in "Pulp Fiction" when he makes it meet that gay hillbilly.
