Projects that were so frustrating that you droped them...

I just want to know if anyone here ever gave up because they bit off mroe than they could chew. And what exactly it was that made you decide not to continue your vid.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

I've never taken on a project I cannot handle.

The closest, however, would be dumping out the Akira remaster project in favor of better ways of ripping and converting the VOB files, and putting the whole thing on the backburner while I try to learn Premiere.

I was working on this really cool video a long while back (almost a year ago now) and I gave up on it.
Why? Because I made the project with fansubs and it looked awful. Also, I didn't have the disk space to support all of those DivX files, premiere kept crashing (three guesses why!) and problems figuring out the most effective timing.
However, about two weeks ago I bought the DVDs to the series, bought the CD with the song, and started editing on the projecting again (from the start.) It promises to be a very cool project indeed.

Ahaha. About three so far, which is sad considering that I've only made four videos.

Usually it's because I wanted to make a video centering on a minor character or a storyline that isn't given all that much attention, and there's even less video than I thought there was... or the song is longer.

But hey, if it protects the world from a half-assed video of mine, it's all good. ;)

A Digi Charat video due to lack of footage. I tried working with what I had and didn't like the current footage one bit.

I dropped a VHD:Bloodlust video I was working on a while back because when I'd think about the video the idea would be great. When it actually came to editing I found the song was too fast for what I wanted to get across.
I basically dropped a Cowboy Bebop video I'd done a while back. I actually did finish it, but not a living soul will ever see that horror.

I only ever scrapped one video.

It was to Blood: The Last Vampire

it was an action video...it actually looked hella cool and my friends loved it....but I lost interest in it so it fell into a bottomless pit.

I attempted to make a Princess Mononoke video to the last three tracks off the Gladiator soundtrack (Elysium-Honor Him-Now We Are Free) which totalled like 8.5 minutes. I made it through one run of the video (i.e. I actually had an entire video sitting there) but I realized the whole thing really stunk on ice. The concept I was going for (retelling Mononoke to the music since throughout the piece there's like four shifts in tone and I matched those to the parts of the film) just could never hold up to eight and a half minutes worth of video done to an instrumental song.
The experience in doing that, however, helped me make Evil Light, which turned out much better.
