I was wondering, if Vocaloid (that is, Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin/Len) should be treated as an anime source (Vocaloid (Program), maybe?).
That is, some vids use its footage (be it pics, CG or some other forms of it) and I think they should be searchable by "anime" title, when games are (basically because of its popularity).
The nationality shouldn't be a problem, everyone knows Vocaloid is originally Japanese made~
Your opinions for/against?

Hmmmm.... That kind of a stretch... It's kind of like considering a original character in an Artbook as anime. However in this case the characters are "kind" of animated, but I just wonder if this sort of opns the door for anything else done this path...

If we consider manga to be "anime", then how would an artbook be any different. In fact, I remember a certain video in the ddr project that used an artbook as source...Vlad G Pohnert wrote:Hmmmm.... That kind of a stretch... It's kind of like considering a original character in an Artbook as anime.
I would consider Hatsune Miku to fit under the category of "original animation". Though I guess a more specific category wouldn't hurt anything.

Well, I agree that it's kind of "Original Animation", you're right (especially since you can't probably find enough "official" footage to make an AMV).Vlad G Pohnert wrote:Hmmmm.... OTOH it's a largely made trend (over a year now) and it has the advantage of being uniform (you can recognize them fairly easily), which makes it specific. If some Japanese member of Org made an original animation and tried to register it as source, it probably wouldn't be good, because no-one would really know the title. But Vocaloid is a thing that (I suppose) large percent of Org's members would recognize, that's why I suggested it.
Also, about artbooks - they usually belong to some title, so original character from an official artbook should belong to that title as well (since it's supposed to by author of that title/artbook) - this is, of course, under the condition that the artbook is made by the original author.
The problem is that Vocaloid doesn't have any such title (unless you want to count it to Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, in which it made an appearance, supposedly - or Lucky Star OVA and treat Hatsune Miku as Hiiragi Kagami ^^;;; ).
