Sword of the Stranger AMV upload problem

Post by Trifanfool » Sun Aug 24, 2008 9:25 pm

Well I put in the host name and username and then the password but when I try to transfer the file the FTP program just freezes and then it says

File transfer Log
(Time of the message) File Error everytime I try to upload it, any suggestions?

Turn off your firewall? It's just a guess though, seeing as how I've never uploaded anything through the ftp here.

What FTP client are you using? Perhaps try a different one? If you use Firefox as your web browser, try installing the "FireFTP" extension. It's free and quite useful.

Yeah I tried the FireFTP stuff but it tranfers at a mind numbingly slow speed like 1 kbs, not exaggerating and its always keeps getting disconnected, does it have to do with the kind of file it is?Mine is wmv :(

The kind of file doesn't matter, but your connection matters a great deal.

It could be that.

If your firewall is one during the upload, that could potentially slow it down as well. Or it could also be that FireFTP is trying to utilize a closed port, in which case you could forward the port to speed it up. I wouldn't know what port FireFTP uses, though.

Actually I tried those things before but zilch but now everything seems to be working alright, although the speed is only at 10kbs it can upload at least, thanks for all the help guys.
