I'm not rich... I just plan on dying before I retire.

Uh...hello you guys!?!?badmartialarts wrote:Agreed. Other than Keanu Reeves' acting-through-unacting style, I got the feeling that the plot of the movie wasn't much different than the original. Space dude. Giant robot with laser beam eye (Gort flashed briefly on the screen...though it seems they were going for some sort of nanomachine plague stuff now). Deciding the goodness of one woman outshone the stupidity of an entire race.Pwolf wrote:Instead of the original "Stop killing each other or I''ll kill all of you" story, it's now: "Stop killing the Earth, or the Earth will kill you."
how did you get that out of the trailer?

Now, if that nanomachine plague is something manmade that the aliens are worried enough about to wipe humanity out about, then well, I can't blame them; I wouldn't want a bunch of Von Neuman nanomachines in my back yard either.
This is all very wild speculation from the trailer. Are you privy to leaked script, mebbe? I'm too lazy to hunt for any.

In an interview with MTV News in March, Reeves told us that Klaatu’s message to Earth was very different from the one in the original, that he was bringing with him a warning to stop destroying the environment. Here it looks like the environment is destroying us (or Giants Stadium, at any rate) — which is it?
It doesn't surprise me that a person of your intelligence bought into this.guy07 wrote:Um ... that's pretty much what's happening here. We fucked shit up and now the earth is fucking us up. It's not marketing, it's not a conspiracy, it's real, and what they are doing is trying to warn people (and make a bit of money in the meantime, i guess). But I guess people like you don't really take it seriously : /
Oh well, we'll kill ourselves in the end anyways. No use in bitching about it.
As for my HATRED for all movies, complaining about the fucking environment is not going to influence me to like em.

some of us don't read mtv.com... and you should have posted that as a source to beginning with. Simply posting a link to the trailer isn't a sure way to get a point across...Serv0 wrote: Uh...hello you guys!?!?
