Just saw the movie a few hours ago, and it was pretty damn rad. My only regret was that War Machine didn't get to join the fray, but that's what sequels are for.
And god damn, that was the hottest I've ever seen Gwyneth Paltrow.

It was surprisingly good. I expected the typical superhero adaption of vomit-inducing quality of production and content. Could have used less Iron man and a lot more Tony Stark though.

I know iron man is a marvel hero in the avengers and that about sums up my knowledge of him. I never knew his origin or even who his major villains are. So obviously I'm not gonna pick up comic book references here. By six minutes into the movie I knew who the villain was. Shit sucks for a movie but as a character profile of a total dick, it was pretty decent.

The only thing that pissed me off is that they made the Mandarin into a shitty two-bit warlord in Afghanistan, instead of a genius near Tony Stark's level with alien technology power rings that let him rewrite reality in ways comparable to 'magic'. Otherwise, it was a decent film, and I enjoyed it. I wanted the Mandarin to blast someone with his ring though. Or pull out the other nine. :O

Dood... that wasn't Mandarin. This was just the mid-east cell of his organization. Mandy is most likely the next villain.badmartialarts wrote:The only thing that pissed me off is that they made the Mandarin into a shitty two-bit warlord in Afghanistan, instead of a genius near Tony Stark's level with alien technology power rings that let him rewrite reality in ways comparable to 'magic'. As someone else stated, I read that in the novelization of the movie, that cell leader tells Tony that there is a higher person than him (i.e. Mandarin) and it's been confirmed he's the next villain for Iron Man 2. I dunno where that coincides with respect to the Hulk and Avengers movie though (Robert Downey Jr. is casted in the Hulk).badmartialarts wrote:The only thing that pissed me off is that they made the Mandarin into a shitty two-bit warlord in Afghanistan, instead of a genius near Tony Stark's level with alien technology power rings that let him rewrite reality in ways comparable to 'magic'. Saw it with the lady as expected. Really enjoyed it and thought that they did a good job of one of Marvel's least interesting headlining characters. Downey Jr in particular should be praised for a hypnotic performance as Stark- it was hard to pay attention to anyone else on screen due to the charisma he radiated.
Except for one person- Gwyneth Paltrow. Excellent work from her too and good to see her on the big screen again.
As for the latter parts of the movie:
