Beta Tester?

I don't need beta testers, all I need is an open mind. I get a lot of critical details on what's wrong that way, though I suck at effort. I just throw out videos usually hoping it's fine, or just not caring because people seem to like crap anyway, and isn't it that if I like it, that's all that matters.

Comparatively, if I've worked for hours upon hours on just "the bugs" (ones that might be there and ones that might not be but you're seeing or hearing things from all the stress and repetition) and someone that's beta-ing for me waits until the end to finally open their mouths and start nitpicking, I want to bash their skull in with a blunt object.

I enjoy beta testers, because they have saved me from several disastourous projects. ^_^

The meaning of the word "beta tester" is pretty much self-explanatory...

My advice is get someone that you get along with to test it, otherwise they'll just bash everything

haha you don't know my friends (those people I get a long with) but then again I'm usually asking for it.

this is when I usually wait for them to SAY that they want the nitpicky feedback.. or express to me what it is they are looking for.. most of my good friends are great at letting me know when they are ready for nitpicky stuff, or they will say "Im not sure what I think about this"

but at the same time I have an acquaintance who will send me a beta after every tiny edit asking me "is this okay? is this okay" and its so bad that it has gotten to the point that I might as well just edit the video for him since he second guesses every little change he makes, and/or asks me how to proceed. (Which can be really hard/annoying when I'm focused on my own projects.)

If you are going to make a video KNOW or at least have a good strong general idea of what you are trying to accomplish with this video.

As a personal preference I like to work out as many bugs as I can see first then let fresh eyes watch it and see if they can point out any new ones for me...

at the same time beta advice is just that advice, weather or not you want to take it is your choice, in the end it is your own video not your beta tester's and you gotta be the one to make the decision on how it looks.

Isn't that the point of beta testing though?

Hell, I'd rather them tell me why it sucks then, than for me to release it and everyone else to point that out.

Well yeah. but i wasnt sure if they were testing the beta for mistakes, or just fixing quality. But i need someone to beta test one of my vids, and i really dont know anyone. So i wanted to make sure that i knew what it was.
