I save my project files, clips folders, pretty much everything except for the vobs, and intermediate renders (such as a render from premiere to be used in an AE comp, it can just be re-rendered later and I make a note as to what it's called) and then all that gets rar'd, split, and burned to DVD's.

Also save lossless lagarith encodes, on dvd and on HD.

I'm a paranoid freak...my external drive (upon which everything was "safely" backed up) once deleted all its contents for apparent reason before going back to working fine sooo...now I put everything everywhere. All my current and previous projects/footage/music/graphics is backed up on DVD and/or on various drives, both internal and external. Which reminds me, I need to back up my current endeavor BIG TIME...

This doesn't mean they're safe, btw, I may have it backed up, but successfully resurrecting a project file after you've moved things around can be extremely difficult. I've never been able to get away with it, post reformat, even after I rewrite the file directory. I have three or four project files that are hanging around which suffer from this, but that I'm only going to use to figure out how I had my clips arranged.
