Golden rule perhaps? Some people are decent enough to not say anything when the alternative is "wow, this sucks."

I should clear up something for you:

hits =/= downloads

... and as far as I can see you have only had 4 downloads... and they are probably the result of this thread... (or at least only 4 stars... and the star count is usually lower than the actual download count...)

if you want to find your download stats you actually have click the "edit my videos" button on your member's main page and the number that appears next to the word LOCAL is the number of downloads your video actually has.

The number of hits your video has received is only the number of times people have looked at the page for the video and it has almost nothing to do with how many people actually "watched" your video

and WMV.
So hes a new amver on the org that just created a Naruto + Linkin Park amv thats saved in wmv. Yeah, you won't get much views off of that. Either throw it in the opinion exchange board or build up your rep.

Most here (forum) would not take a look at a new video to an unknown AMV maker. They will usually take a look only to those who has been here for a long time or someone who has been known to make Videos professionally. Also don't get high expectation to them cause if your just an average AMV maker (a fan and does this for fun) like me expect high critisim. The Trick here is that the AMV that you have made post it in many site location and compare what is the rate/liking by those people compared to this site. You would be suprised on the difference of their oppinion compared to the ones made here.

If you're honestly not a troll, I'll try to explain:

You chose the fight scene between Naruto and Sasuke over the water and placed it to Linkin Park's In The End. This combination hasn't been done a few times. Or even ten times. That exact combination has been done hundreds of times. Maybe a thousand times. It's not even just that it's Naruto and Linkin Park, which got old back in, like, what, 2003? 2004? It's that specifically your scene choices, and the song choice of In The End, has an originality value of -10 at this point. This is why most people, let alone the regulars, have nothing to say about your video. In some cases it really is the better part of valor to say nothing at all, knowing you'd have nothing positive to say at all.

In particular this is the reason I did not comment, although you asked for it, so I'll continue. Add to the unoriginal combination your massive pixelation, your offbeat cuts, and the subtitles, and you have produced the quintessential "bad newbie AMV." It's so perfectly bad, it pretty much seems faked to me. Since there's no variance at all from the stereotype, this leads me to believe that this some elaborate hoax. If it's not, you are the best proof that stereotypes have a basis of truth, and in this case, you are it.

I'm not trying to be mean or harsh. I am, however, attempting to express the reality of the situation you find yourself in. Even when I started messing around with Anime Music Video production in 1999, I didn't just throw something together without looking at the landscape around me. From 1998-2001, I specifically watched not only what I saw at conventions (although they tended to give a more accurate picture of the quality level), but also what I could find online. Kevin and Misty Caldwell (no relation?), Tim Park (who is still active), my good friend Brad Demoss (your turn to spill the drink, I think!), Studio Hybrid (who's back!), Maison Otaku, Indifferent Productions, ErMaC... The list goes on. I then went with a fairly recent anime, Shoujo Kakumei Utena, that had been given some treatment but wasn't overdone, and was the first one to enter Nine Days, Story of a Girl into the database.

This was back before the days of wide-spread broadband and You Tube. Yet I had no trouble researching what the stereotypes were for new videos. At that time, it was Dragon Ball Z and random screaming death metal, and not long after Linkin Ball Z. Although End of Evangelion to Linkin Park was almost as over done at this point. I've never liked Linkin Park, so that may be another reason why I never had any interest in making a video to it. My point here is that the AMV world you live in is a lot more accessible than the one I started in as far as such general information. Point, click, receive information on what is considered popular, and what is considered overdone, and what is considered to have all the originality sucked out of it and dear God please don't do this. In addition, it's so easy now to find information on how to properly prepare footage: I wrote one such guide. It's at the top of the forum.

Even if the regulars won't blatantly say this, the truth is that the belief that there is no excuse for this type of video to routinely appear is generally held. When it does, we ignore it. Sorry.
