It's a shame, I felt that Akross this year really lacked a lot of luster that was present in previous years, either because I didn't have the opportunity to really see all the entries before, or if it's just a general trend in the quality of editing. There were notable videos, of course, Spoil was particularly enjoyable to watch, but even it had it's moments of 'been there, done that', or simply tacky editing. Sure there was innovation, and I'm absolutely ecstatic to see it, because it seems to me there is really very little left of notable worth as of late.

Not to be putting down the competition at all, it's still one of the most solid ones out there, just that I feel this was not one of the best years.

Congrats to the winners anyhow of course, all well deserved.

I did found more videos worth keeping on my HD through Akross in the last couple weeks than I did through the org all year long. Although Krat is right, this wasn't a strong year really. But still some decent videos in the mix from this contest.

Well I'm not going to speak about how the videos were overall, but there are some really spiffy series-specific AMVs I am glad were used. And not to mention they were solid enough for me to keep it in my hard drive; most notably that Tsukuyomi ~ Moon Phase video that won Best Romance (hell yeah, nekomimi vampire, FTW!!!) and the Shuffle! video (it's about time someone exploits the psycho Kaede scenes since that was BEGGING to be used in AMVs).
