Another rant, why does that justify persecution?? This brings me back to my 'martyrdom' call and points to my tendancy of skipping steps sorry about that. Well here, a martyr is not necisarily someone who died, just someone who was persecuted against (again correct me if I'm wrong, I don't look these things up, but I'm always right ^_^ *ok that, just came out wrong*). The persecution here has to do with certain ppl who are rather forced to skip parts of their rights (ie free hosting) just to keep from martyrdom! Thankyou for proving my point Scintilla, you sir, have been Martyr'd.

sorry for the triple post, but I have to point these gems of knowledge out

I talk on other forums, and generally the opinion of the .org on those other sites is "an ego-filled cesspool of elitists." Generally, it's understandable... Because if you look at us, that's... Kind of what we are.

But I've always looked at the .org as a "serious hobbist community" rather than just "a vidding community". What would be the point of coming to the .org for only archiving? I come to the .org for all the extra features: forums, stars, ops, awards, etc. PLUS, do you see anyone who isn't on the org getting panels about AMVs (99% of the time)?

Hell, there's another incentive right there to be part of our elitist cesspool - you get to be closer to the big guys who run AMV contests. In rare cases, anime companies. Get popular on the .org - do an easter egg for an anime DVD -- It's happened before.

So yes, maybe we are taking ourselves too seriously (for the most part). But I like that this site taking editing seriously. If I only wanted to make AMVs for fun, and not to show off to other people, then I'd go some place else (and there are other places, trust me).

So far the only thing I found out is
that what ever your secret ingredient is, its something that smells kinda fishy
