My AWA purchases were: Kino's Journeys, Cromartie HS, Full Metal Panic, Diebuster (the rest of it), Gunbuster, Haruhi disc 3, and some misc. other stuff, ALL of which I have plans for/currently working on a few of the ideas. (except for FMP, just wanted that for the collection)

MM's "Entropy" was one of the first vids I ever saw. Harmageddon is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE movie. It was just pure suck all the way through. Unrelenting boredom. Like a two hour Capt. Planet episode.

When I started getting into anime there wasnt really anything worth getting over here in merry old england and thanks to AMV's I moved away from the standard Manga Entertenment stuff.

If it wasnt for a-m-v.org, I'd still think FLCL was an acronym for a disturbing sexual postion...

x(X+1)

By and large, I buy very little in the way of anime these days, since I watch most of what has been domestically released via online DVD rental (GreenCine in my case, though most people use more common companies like NetFlix I believe). The majority of what little I actually buy these days is because I plan to use it for a video.

Along the same lines, a fair bit of the music I buy these days is also found through AMVs- though I rarely buy new CDs and usually either get it through lala.com trades or from iTunes.

I was a bit slow to respond but yeah I've bought a lot of anime before for AMVs. I've often bought shows I haven't seen more than two episodes of in order to make AMV.

As for CDs the only time I buy western CDs is because I have a video in mind. Otherwise I almost never buy CDs. . .ever.

good grief i have several cds i made that have strictly music i've seen in other amvs. then when i play the cd i play the video in my head @_@.

animes as well. i haven't been disappointed by any animes i was introduced to thru an amv. if i'm unsure of one i make sure to rent it first. but some amvs are just dead give aways that i'll love it.

my latest example being the amv "Be My Girl" by Night|H|awk to School Rumble. it took me a couple times watching it, but i realized i may really like this anime. sure enough it's the cutest one i've ever seen!

i guess my biggest disappointment would be the eva series. great action and everything, but.... i won't go on. (however i'm very excited about the brand new release of the series!)

I recently just bought a Default Album only for the Video that I wanted to make after my current project. I'll probably make that one my 3rd video as I'm thinking that one will be my masterpiece and I'll need all the experience I can get to make it so. I've had the idea in my head for the longest time and it's one of the ideas that inspired me to really get into the hobby of AMV making. So I can't wait to get to it, and I wanted the best quality I could get so I bought the Special bonus CD/DVD pack only for that video idea that I had.

I can't wait to put it all together! First things first though, and that's getting my system fixed/setup so I can actually finish my debut video.

Yes, but first you should try to forget everything you saw in the movie. And slap anyone who suggested that you should watch the movie first - even if it was yourself.

By the way, the videos you were referring to; where they these?
