Large file upload

Post by ArionStorm » Wed Aug 08, 2007 7:44 am

Hello
i'm trying to upload an amv of 180 MB, which is clearly larger than the quota of 100MB. How do i do it? I already posted a large file upload request but i didn't get an answer and i can't upload it otherwise. I tried but after it's done uploading i get to this screen:

Confirm Upload: Introduction
Pancake could not find your file. This is generally the result of one of:

You have not uploaded your video yet. Please use an FTP client, along with your FTP login information, to upload this video.
Your video is larger than the upload quota (typically, 100MB).
If none of the above apply, please report the following error code in the forums: opendir: No such file or directory at /usr/local/sbin/Pancake line 143, <FH> line 17.

You may also cancel this upload request.

WHAT DO I DO? PLEASE HELP.

You have to get permission to upload files larger than 100mb from an admin by e-mailing them.

You should also have a reason. Oversize uploads are for MEPs. If you are just bad at compressing, you shouldn't be getting or using an oversize upload.

Also, thread moved to Site Help.

Sorry to revive the topic, but I've got a question. I've requested a large upload, and the status is 'pending'. I'm getting the error: "No file uploaded (yet?). Please upload one." Do I upload my AMV to the provided FTP address now?

This is con season. These things aren't going to happen quickly. Give it a few days. In the meantime you might want to ask yourself what you can do to make it smaller. If the video isn't over 10 minutes long there probably is no reason for it to be that large.

It's over 20 minutes (it's a MEP.)
