I wouldn't kick a project that I have already started. If you stuck at it - let it rest and make a different one. Maybe you get new ideas. I made it with one project. I did finish 3 other AMVs before I could bring it to a point that did satisfy me.

What often happens - I get ideas that I kick. I hear a song that I think that fits a particular anime. I listen several times to it and imagine what scenes to use, possibly rewatch the anime. And then I decide - no, that doesn't suite so well as I thought.

And regarding the quality of your source - rip it again without lossy compression and clean it following the guides. As long as you don't do anything that changes framerate, number of frames or the position of the frames inside the files, you can exchange the underlying source without problems. I did it several times, because I have improved my skills in cleaning or have found a better compression method.

this also happen to me a few times, but I always decide to stop working when I finish more than one minute of the video.

thanks for the great responses. i think i will finish the video. to be honest, i like my original idea better, anyway.

i've thought about re-capturing. the thing is i split all my footage into 1 minute long clips and named them according to what images they have. i'd have to name them all the same exact name, plus i'm afraid that they might be a few seconds out of sync with each other. the new clips, for example, might start a second before the old clips, which would throw my edits out of whack.

but i'm gonna take a break for now, and in the mean time i'm gonna really study the guides so this bad footage doesnt happen again. again, thanks for the advice.

That's one of the reasons why I use VDubMod's job control. I can redo the clips exact like they were before whenever I want, no matter for what reason. Accidently deleted one? No problem! Changed the script? Here you go! Wanna change the compression? If you know what to do it's possible too.

The other reason why I use it is speed. I don't have to wait until until the clips are encoded. I can select one scene after the other and let them encode if I'm at work, not at home or otherwise busy.
