interlacing !!!!

hello i have problem with my amv
when i compress it with virtualdub horizontal lines appears in motion clips
i have read lots of faqs but couldn`t understand how to do it !!!!
can some one tell me simply whats the best way to de-interlace my amv???? in simple steps >_< plzzzzz

video->filters->deinterlace

ps. this should go in general video (or other video editing programs) and not site help... but a mod should move it eventually?
