Need Anime Series Suggestions
My head is spinning with ideas and already I am planning out the blue prints of a future video. However I need more footage to fufill the idea for this video.
I want to do a montage of several key deaths in good animated series. I'm a child of the 80s so naturally I love action cartoons... Voltron, Mask, Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, etc. The general tone and presentation style of those shows is what I like about them, for example I am absolutely in love with Ronin Warriors, which is a 90s series but alot closer to the anime look. The thing is, it still has that same mood in the show's presentation. Transformers And GI Joe also has some more modern updated animation to go on as well. But either way I guess the animation style is irrelivent so long as the idea is pulled together with the song properly. I would just like all the series to flow well together. I'm also a big Dragon Ball Z fan and a huge Gundam and Zoids fan as well. Though I will admit have yet to see all the episodes from these shows that I've said I like, so I do not know what happens. That's where you come in...
That should give you a general idea of the type of shows I really go for... With that in mind, could you guys reccomomend some really good shows that have impactful deaths that happen to a prominent character?
My video idea is about deaths and the song is a ballad so I need some footage that will pull the ole heart strings a bit. I'd also like it to be of some fairly well kown franchises people would be able to somewhat recognize.
Got any suggestions for shows with touching deaths and what episode?

now that im thinking more clearly
FMA - sometime near the end of the first season i believe hughes dies...
Loveless - the whole series is around an older brother's death
Utena - final ep she "dies"
in sailor moon they die every season dont they? most notable is the end of the first season... you can find some good stuff in the R movie
Fruits Basket - her mother dies this is braught up in several episodes..
Kimi ga no mozu eien (Rumbling Hearts) first episode, not a death but a serious car accident that leaves a girl in a coma, can be used effectively though
i agree with deathnote... i would guess its near the end of the first season though (i havent watched it, ive been reading the manga)
several characters near the end of Last Exile die
Rahxephon i think has some character death but i dont remember exactly off hand
Evangelion - toji? i cant remember his name, or the ep but yea..
im sure that theres something in Akira you can use... its a movie incase you didnt know >.>

Thanks for the replies everyone.
Death Note looks cool. I might have to give that a shot. Any one know the exact episode title?
I also plan on getting some Gundam DVDs so does any one have some good suggestions for scenes I could pluck from any of the Gundam series' for dramatic deaths?
My whole thing with describing the shows I like is basically that I just don't like the Pokemon animation look. I prefer characters more fillled out or mature looking. I know the Transformers movie has a good death scene so I plan on using that and I figure if I got another show it should be able to mesh style-wise with that footage as to not get too out of place in the video.

LOL not quite. They all die in the first season, and in the last Season Stars. but inbetween only a couple die. Uranus and Neptune die part way through S, Pluto dies at the end of that Season. they don't really die in R or Super S at all though.JaddziaDax wrote:
