AMV knockoff trends

I made this topic because I realized that, while it seems to me that "Waka Laka (for Osaka)" may have more cheap knockoffs on Yuu'utsube (many of which include gratuitous hue cycling, I should add) than any other AMV I've ever seen, it might just seem that way to me because it's one of the only trends to which I would have a reason to pay attention.

So I wanted to know: What other AMVs have tons of cheap copycats made and uploaded by everyone and their mother?

AMV hell of course. Euphoria had a ton of cheap copies a few years ago although that died down. WoTB has tons of copies although that might just be when everyone uses the same source to angsty songs it all starts looking alike. I've seen some inferior copies of True Fiction but not nearly as many as I expected, must be too much effort or something.

On a similar note, I'm really REALLY surprised that the only copies of the various technique beats were blatant parodies of it rather than true rip offs.

(By the way, for an example of the level of magnitude I'm talking about, a search for "waka laka" on the 'Tube returned 1,430 results. Most of them seem to be AMVs.)

A tube search for 'amv hell' has 11,700 hits.

I've seen copies of one my videos that either
1. Copy the edits cut for cut just substituting the anime or
2. Copy half of my exact scenes, then throw in a bunch of their own here and there

Some even go so far as to copy the same exact title screens word for word, or just rephrase them. Even a stick figure version that does this.

Youtubé is awsm like that.

I've noticed that occasionally someone tries copying something I've done. Not often but it has happened. I always find that strange. My editing is, at best, vaguely semi-decent so why would anyone want to emulate that? The only redeemable things about my videos are the idea behind it and those are usually ideas that just don't come off well a second time around.

eh, a banner i made got imitated more than i cared for -

otherwise, my videos imitate other amvs, but not the other way around so far as i know.

I dont think my videos get parodied often... though I did meet one of my current amv friends cause he did a similar amv to one of mine using the same song...
