Gonna throw my hat into the ring here. Nowhere near as good as Haunter's stuff, but 3/4 of this video was done at a frame-by-frame level to remove lip flap and get the lip-sync right. A lot of it involved motion and fine-tuned mask manipulation.

The video is sad times but the lip syncing is faaaar from being as good as it should be to win a "Best Use of Lip Synch" award.

More specifically, the lip sync was the main thing killing the drama.

i disagree. the lip sync done in this video was a great way to unify the song and anime, it kept my interest and the emotion of the lead character sucked me right into the story

in fact, the lip sync is what makes this video stand out from other tragedy amvs. i cry every time i watch it and it deserved to win Best Drama at AX.
