Wisconsin needs more cons, whoes with me?

Post by GRIM_REAP » Fri Jul 27, 2007 4:54 pm

I might get yelled, for this thread, but caution to the winds..... who is with me on this, we only have one convention in wisconsin and i'm sorry, but with gas prices, my parents and most my friends all say "NO" so, any ideas on how to start a convention and i already know some comic shops and some anime sites and shops that said they'd help with costs and such....

I just need a general idea of what should be at a convention and what age restrictions and so on should be....

No, i'm not rich... i just have some friends in high-places and we're deciding on starting a con, but only if, we can get our acts toghther next year XP!

there's two cons held by the college anime clubs in the area.
Marquette has their "Snow con" sometime around February
University of Wisconsin Milwaukee has a con sometime (I don't even know when my school's con is)

both were started this year, so it's pretty small. With some luck, at least one of those will grow

I've been to both, I live close to the one, Marquette. and well they are small and they arn't really into, the whole people asking too help, i know of atleast 17 places willing to help out and what i think, well what wisconsin needs... is one major con...

If you think you can put a full weekend "major" con together "by next year" then you're not ready.

Seriously, take the time to do it right and make sure you have competent people in the executive staff who know what they're doing before you go anywhere beyond "hay guyz wanna start an animu con?" or else it'll go nowhere.
