Getting Costumes made (Help Donate Kenshin Costumes)

Post by genestarwind21122 » Mon Mar 14, 2005 12:16 am

Okay this might sound odd, but at Ani-Quest our new anime convention we are looking for people who want to make costumes for 9 band members. Crimson Orchid and Fear44. We would need a total of 9 costumes consisting of Himura Kenshin, Myojin Yahiko, Sagara Sanosuke, Shinomori Aoshi, Hiko Seijuurou and I'll figure out the other 4 tommorow. It's getting late. If anybody would be willing to help out with making these costumes that would be great. Well give you a free pass into the convention and front row seating for both nights of the concert. Here's the website for more information on Ani-Quest. Please contact me if you are interested in making these costumes for the band.

Also other stuff that you'll recieve if you make a costume for our convention would be front row seating to Masquerades, AMV Contest, and will give you $10 of raffle tickets for our 50/50 raffle at the convention. (Approx. 35 Tickets). So once again if you are interested let me know.

As a sometime cosplay commissioner... add about $800 to that and you might get some interest, buddy. Might. People generally don't just up and make costumes for others, because it is hella expensive and takes a lot of work - especially outfitting a dozen people at once. (Imagine the work that goes into making an AMV - only you never get to reuse the discs again, and have to rebuy them for every project.) $100 is a very common price for one cosplay commission.

Try cosplay.com - I think they have want ads. Prepare to hemorrhage money. You're probably not going to get it any other way, ever. Though you might try hitting up a newbie who is desperate to get some business. Still, prepare to hemorrhage money regardless, just because of the sheer number of pieces.

I couldn't; I have three commissions this year plus one of my own, so I'm pretty well set. Just a little advice.
