Well Otakucon is coming soon! Who is planning on going? Miami isn't a bad place to be the week before Christmas!

As hurricane season will be over by this time (and yes I went through 3 of the Florida hurricanes!) and I will have my Christmas bonus right about that time......

i may be in florida....but miami is about as far away from tallahassee you can get while still being in-state....

So far I'm going with my "Con Buddy" Casey. He has gone with me to all the cons so far. He actually got me started. I think he created a monster!
Did anyone else notice that it's being held in a 5 star hotel!!! and it's only $99 a night (less than AWA hotels). I love the guess list, and can't wait to see them.

Is very excited as well! Yes I did see that it is being held in a 5 star hotel (I checked out the website and it is a beauty!!) at 99$ a night it is a great deal as well but... unfortunatly I am very short of cash and will be staying at a more economy rate (cheap @ss) hotel in the area (thanks to hotels.com)! But trying to stay on the bright side as this is the first convention I will be able to attend, thanks to the new job and catching up on all the bills and so forth, and it will also give me a little bit of spending money to boot!

But you can really miss out on a lot if you aren't at the con hotel. Believe me it sucks having to travel to and from the convention.

I wish I could afford to stay at the con hotel. It looks so nice from the web page and it does suck to have to travel to another hotel ... but I did manage to get a room right down the road (actually about a mile down the same road) for about 1/2 the price. After the twin hurricanes we had down here I'm a bit broke at the moment and finding a cheaper room meant the difference between going and not being able to go. Next time I will be staying at the con hotel for sure and as this is the first anime con I have ever been too, I'm really not sure what to expect. Either way I am so looking forward to this.

BTW... I do like your sig Miz Ducky. I agree completely

That's why you split the cost with someone who will go with you. There are at least two other people sharing a room with me. Possibly two more... if I can convince them (they've never been to a convention before). As long as you don't mind sleeping on the floor, I'm sure someone will let you stay with them.

Does anyone have room for one more?
