Fanime Con AMV contest update

Post by scottanime » Thu Apr 01, 2004 10:07 pm

A reminder that the deadline to submit AMV's to the Fanime Con 2004 event is May 1st. Please be sure to check out the rules at
http://www.fanime.com/contests/

The OtakuVideo submission site will hopefully be up prior to the deadline, but don't risk being left out of what is sure to be a great show!!

Get those videos in!!

Also remember we now have a Trailer/Short category, and we are accepting Hentai videos for a special screening.

Good luck to all !!

So, if I took the video I'm planning to finish and send to ACen, Otakon, and AnimeNEXT, and went ahead and sent it to Fanime as well at the same time as I sent it to the others, when the only one of those cons I can be fairly sure I'll actually be at is ANEXT, would people get mad at me?

(not rhetorical; I've only been doing this for a year, so I don't know how people feel about these things)

As much as I trust the 1337-ness of you guys fixing the site, I'm not gonna take any chances. I'm gonna burn my entries and snail them in.

The rules about encoding and decoding and such do have me a bit anxious, considering what I work with (my first two videos' source material were AVI's ripped with the Windows Media 9 codec, while the third one in progress that I might consider entering as a second was ripped in DiVX 5.1.1; all videos are WMV cos they're composed with WMM). But hey...the greatest risk is the one not taken.

Still not expecting to really win. Just wanna see what the crowd reactions are while present at the same contest.

Still gonna snail them. Given myself a deadline of the 20th to have vids finished, chosen, ripped, and sent off.

It's Disco Time! ^_^
