Anime Boston 2004 - Roll Call, AMV-Related Info!

Post by dokool » Wed Mar 31, 2004 3:33 pm

This is a consolidated list of all the AMV-related events at Anime Boston 2004, as well as a general role-call for those who are attending. Post if you're going and how people can find you at the con (cosplay, etc).

Anime Boston 2004 - Events/Panel Schedule (Subject to change, and changes that have been made regarding the AMV 201 panel aren't yet updated on the site)

The Boston Park Plaza Hotel - Floor Plan

Friday, April 9th

4:00PM - AMV 101 Panel (Panel 2, 90 minutes). Hosts: DOKool and Ashyukun. Panelists: Kiarrens, Grover, Guyver2019, and mckeed.

6:00PM - AMV Editor Clubhouse (Clubhouse on the 4th floor, 60 minutes). General gathering/CD swapping/meeting/etc.

8:00PM - AMV Contest Screening 1 (Main Events, 2 hours).

10:00PM - AMV-Maker Dinner at PF Chang's. Meet at the front of the stage after the AMV Contest ends for group pictures/whatever, move out from there?

Saturday, April 10th

12:00PMAMV Contest Screening 2 (Video 1, 2 hours) - Actual time unknown, this is a guess based on when it was last year.

7:00PM - Masquerade (Main Events, 3 hours assuming that it isn't a repeat of last year). The winners of the Contest will be shown while the judges are deliberating, as will whatever Ashyukun has on his laptop to kill time =) They'll let editors with videos in the contest into Main Events for when the winners are announced, so you don't have to stay for the entire masquerade if it's not your thing.

Naturally, the night is young on Saturday and we might come up with something to do.

Sunday, April 11th

10:30AM - AMV 201 Panel (Panel 2, 90 minutes). Hosts: DOKool and Ashyukun. Panelists: Tom the Fish, jBone, Marco, and Matt Pyson.

12:00PM - Behind the AMVs (Panel 1, 60 minutes). Host: Patrick Delehanty. This panel covers the AMV contest itself, highlighting the winners as well as other notable entries. Panelists TBA (Basically, any winning editors who are in attendence)

Whew! I think that covers it...

I'll be there in my chessy k-mart excuse for a costume.
(Like all my other costumes)

I will be wearing speical glasses with spirls on them and a all-black
costume in somewhat attempt to protray Ginnsuke (Glass-kun)
from Tokyo Underground. Also, I'll be wearing my tradational 1/2
pound of badges including an ORG one I still have to make. What
else? in tow maybe a man dressed ether as RYU or the mad scientist
form Nurse Nanako (SPAF) and fianlly Bob dressed in real costume as Visous form Cowboy Bebop (with the sliver hair included :)) Will-be there around
5-6 pm in time to greet people and run upstairs with our crap and
set-it-up get in the pre-prereg line. I seem to gather Otaku like a
magnet so I won't be hard to find :)

10PM for dinner!?!?!? I'm going to eat way before that probally.

Emails went out? Wonder who you heard that from :P I know I am anxious to see who the other competitors are and what there videos are like. My two videos, Belldandy is a God and Rock Lee: Mentos spokesperson videos made it to the finals.

I'm betting "God Is A Girl" is in the masters category. This is going to be interesting.

Well, you don't need one more award, because you can always enter a higher category than that for which you qualify...

I've got Dueling Videos: Under Ice in the Journeyman category, but I won't be able to make it to the con, owing to the fact that the con's over Easter weekend and my friend who goes to college right outside Boston will therefore be home for spring break.

Well at the time i only had one award. That made me nowhere close to master. I won two more since I submitted my entry form to anime boston. Even so...i still wouldn't consider myself a "master." Plenty of people have way better skills than I have.

Corrections:

Sunday, April 11th

10:30 AM - AMV Overflow Screenings (I'm going to assume Video 2, but who knows) - Watch the entries that didn't make it into the competition and weren't DQed

2:00 PM
- AMV 201 Panel (Panel 2)
