Has anyone ever screwed up like thise (planning)

Post by SSJVegita0609 » Sat Feb 14, 2004 5:10 pm

I planned on attending Katsucon this year, and for some crazy reason I was under the impression that they would be showing the AMVs on sunday (tomorrow) morning. I don't know what gave me this impression, but alas, it was there. Anywho, as it turns out they showed them THIS morning and last night, and are not showing them again.

Now, this may leave people asking "wait, why the hell weren't you there anyways?". This is an issue of finance. I happen to live about 30 minutes from the con, so I didn't need a hotel room, but I am pretty broke currently, so when I saw that registration for Sunday only was an affordable $15 I figured that's all I would need.

Now however, it is too late to turn back the clock...

Anyways, now that I've shared my horrid Con sob story, anyone else ever had planning incidents ruin their attempts at attendance? Or make them really late?

I'm extremely anal about my con planning.

I always must attend "this so" event and will even wake up early if I have to.

Yeah, I was expected at Manifest last year. Some very last minute expenses had driven myself to the brink of being very much... broke. So I made a video for Mitchell to play in my place. I hope he remembered to play it.

I don't think I've ever been to a con where the main AMV showing was on Sunday. It tends to be a big event, so the showing is usually Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, or twice throughout the weekend.

Sorry man :?

Perhaps ironically, your "Dreams Come True" vid won at Sakura-Con 2000 on a Sunday morning. Either 10 or 11 AM...I think 10 AM since I remember getting out before lunch and the show lasted about an hour.

Despite the early time, it was SRO in a medium-sized theater, maybe 300-500 people in attendance.
