Post by InSaNe KeYbLaDeR » Sat Aug 23, 2003 7:23 am

-ish stupid- I mean I know it's a place where lot's of people get together dressed up as anime characters, but what exactly do you do? And is there an age limit? So far I've only seen adults go not kids. :(

We all sit around in dark rooms muching on edible oil products and hecling bad anime MST3K style. Then we go to the nearest mall and get kicked out for looking like a group of freaks.

...have you even tried reading people's con reports? You don't have to dress up. They screen anime, sometimes newer stuff and sometimes just anything; you can buy merchandise, manga, videos etc. from the vendors/distributors; they have panels where self-styled experts tell everybody the dark secrets of drawing or whathaveyou; companies announce new releases; there are contests, games, activities, that sort of thing. It all varies.

The usual age for cons as I understand is around college-age, like everything else in anime fandom. But it varies; I've seen a couple of kids and a couple of old folks.

Again, spend two and a half minutes looking up a site about a con and you would learn a lot. Start on something like www.fansview.com and click on whatever con you'd like to go to. This is not brain surgery.

It's a place where you can easily find dwchang for an entire weekend, and glomp him everytime you run into him.

I'd like to see that...

I can see some random stranger coming to dwchang and saying "Please quiet your daughter down!"

Holy shit.

That does it, we're raising a fund to get Insane Keyblader to ACen 2004.

Nuu....

AWA!

Because then I can see this with my own eyes...

Besides, even if we got her the money to go to ACen, her parents probably wouldn't let her go...
