I really didn't want to get into his because I know where it's going to end up, but there are a couple things that all of you are failing to understand here.
First I want it made clear that I am not speaking on behalf of any convention here, so any issues anyone has with what I'm about to say should be directed at me, and me alone.
jBone and DoKool..... I totally understand your views on the matter, and you are absolutely correct that not everyone has to like everyone else, however the point that both of you are missing is that the AMV Dinner (and the whole AMV community in general for that matter) is meant to be a place for people with a common interest to come together and interact. It is supposed to be something fun that everyone can enjoy.
For you, or anyone else to come in here and tell someone else that they are not welcome, is both childish and wrong! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT!
Now I don't know what the hell is going through your minds to make you think this would EVER be ok. Maybe somewhere along the line you won too many awards and maybe now you think you are someone important?
Well this is reality people... winning some award at an anime convention does not make you king of the world, and it sure as hell does not give you the authority to exclude anyone because you don't LIKE them.
If you want to exclude people then you are more than welcome to have your own private events, and tell whoever you wish to just screw off.
This however is a public event, and whom ever wishes to attend may do so.
Now if that is too difficult for you to handle then you do have the choice of not attending. It would be very unfortunate if that was the case, however I will not tolerate ANYONE trying to play AMV God and throwing down judgment with a holier than thou attitude.
Hate me all you want now, I honestly don't care what anyone thinks anymore, but I'll be damned if I'm going to just stand by and let you discriminate against someone like this.
You don't have to agree with anything I have said, and you sure don't have to like it. You are totally free to think and feel anything you want, and treat anyone as badly as you want. But you have to understand that sooner or later someone like me is going to come along and tell you to grow the hell up!
That being said, I have nothing personal against any of you, so please don't think I am angry at anyone. If anyone has anything to say email me, and we'll talk.
My guess though is that this thread will be locked pretty soon anyway.
Peace.

Crap >_<. Ok. I'm sorry if this has sparked anything with anyone. I was really just askin' if there was gunna be a chance for everyone to give everyone a chance, regardless of reputation. Sorry
ANYWHO, back on topic. Do you think we will end up going to the same place we did last year? The pizza place in the Inner Harbor? I had some pizza there before during the convention, though not with the AMV group, and it was really good. Anyone have any other suggestions?

If one person has made himself a nuisance in the past (viz. things such as stalking and generally being a pest), and would ruin the mood of the event by being there, then I think the group has a general right to call him on it.hackerzc wrote:For you, or anyone else to come in here and tell someone else that they are not welcome, is both childish and wrong! It has nothing to do with however many awards I've won (barely any, for the record) and I'd hardly claim to be an 'AMV God' as you so put it. It just so happens that one or two people, through their actions in the community, would spoil such a gathering. If you want to boost their egos then you can sit at the table with them (because I sure as hell doubt anybody else will volunteer for that duty), but I bet the majority of those attending would be happy if they just stayed home.

We all know who we are talking about here. I want to come out and ask if any creators/editors that do have a problem with me please pm me or email me so that way we can try to straighten things up. I want to know what I have done to offend so many of you. I want to change and I would hope I could have you guys know me for who I truely am. Not because of any mistake I made in the past. I admit I was wrong. What else can a guy do? At least I admit to it and I'm appologizing for my actions. Like I said if you want to contact me please do so. I would really like to straighten this up.

Please be advised that the behavior of some people on this forum is not indicative of the behavior of same in person. I've met some really good people in the past at these gatherings, and they can all vouch for the fact that I'm really a nice guy in person. I think people have the right to make amends in person for any past transgressions.dokool wrote:If one person has made himself a nuisance in the past (viz. things such as stalking and generally being a pest), and would ruin the mood of the event by being there, then I think the group has a general right to call him on it.hackerzc wrote:For you, or anyone else to come in here and tell someone else that they are not welcome, is both childish and wrong! Hmmm... After careful thought ... How about this for a compromise
everyone can go ,but, if they cuase problems within the group they
get dumped end of story. This means real problems not he was glaring
at me funny bullshit. If we agree to act somewhat like reasonal
human beings that outta be fine. As for past issues dokool does
have a bit of an EGO ,but, he's been willing to help me out countless
times with editing questions and advice he didn't have to do. I don't really
know gene enough to really think he's odd or anything, so I'll let him slide.
Jbone's a nice guy just don't give him too many drinks or we could have
a problem. Not that he isn't funny drunk ,but, I don't wanna get kicked
out of a restuant. Oh as for locations, how about the UNO's by the waterfront?
