AWA 2007 Aftermath

ah I'm totally lame and didn't post in the aftermath thread until now (where has my head been?)

Videos navigate to the other 4 through the "video responses" under the video.. and photos.. but my flash had been acting up most of the weekend O.o

I know i saw you this year but I kinda was like "Oh hey" and then left.

Hopefully I will hang out with you more next year and we can switch out footage or something!

yea no stress I was having a totally off weekend, and half the con was weirding me out, the other half was fun, and there were a lot of surprises for me apparently..

I donno about switching footage, I mean your camera is so much nicer than my crappy little $200 wanna be DV thing XD (which is perfect for crappy little "youtu<b></b>be videos" because the tube hides all the bad quality of the video) lol..

You forget I used to work with a camera that's probably crappier than yours. =D

Yeah the weekend was kind of "off" for me too. But I still managed to have fun. I kinda feel the same way, could've been worse, but it also could've been better. We were all very disorganized this year. I was at the hotel very early and was with the big group that went to the dinner but even I was confused about what was going. Maybe it will all work itself out next year.

I mean, I guess we're getting at the point where the people coming to AWA have been to AWA at least 3x before so they're like "Fuck the tradition, we're ready!" and go do stuff.

Anyway, I recorded a lot of panels(as I tend to do; dunno why, it's not like I ever use the footage usually) so if you want anything, let me know. I also got the skittles event. They kept the room very dark. I opened my iris up all the way but it was still pretty dark. I'll upload that footage anyway if you want it. Everything is very orange. xD

yea no stress XD I think I'm done editing awa videos this year... (a little burnt out on it?) I feel that I got lots better footage last year, but I was pretty distracted in my own head this year to actually pay attention..

Next year I'll get awsum footage! O: or something? maybe? lol

Yeah, aside from McKeed's con confession thing (Btw, if you're reading this, I'm getting it ready for you RIGHT NOW!) I don't think I got much "good" footage either. But then, I guess I never really did this for "awesome" footage. I kind of started doing it for myself and just a home video type thing to pass around to friends, like a video yearbook.

I guess the moment I tried to step away from that, it got to be more like work. Though I still had fun doing it anyway. Just not as much as I could've had. =)

well what I mean by "awesome footage" is more like "camera angles I like" or "things that interest me at the con" that sort of thing.

Vidding Vs. AMVs
Compares vidding community to AMVing, talks about usage of effects in AMVs, AMV community in general. Thursday before the AMVer Dinner. Mostly Kalium, Vlad, Illiea Sadri, and some guy who looks like McKeed but isn't really who are speaking.

More as they come. Will all be in this post if no one posts after me. Otherwise I'll make new posts. Once ALL of the AWA videos are completed, I'll put up an AMV announcement or something in that forum.

I think part of the problem was the hotel regulations against con parites; made it difficult to get everyone together for another big AMV gathering which I sorely missed. Generally it was easier to just hang out in front of the vat where you could talk to people there or run into people after con-shut-down. Otherwise a lot of this year was people doing their own thing. Need to organize a second get-together for next year outside of the dinner.

Maybe if we have another dinner, or a lunch, depending on the con schedule on friday or saturday.

Maybe an "After AMV Awards gathering" or something?
