The hell? First my best flight deals go up by $45 because I waited too long then the only person I know well enough to hang out with and have introduce me to others decides to up and cancel.

I think i'm out too. This is just going to cost too much - and I have $30k worth of debt to deal with.

It's kind of ironic since I was supposed to be in Japan last year at the same time as AWA. Then my friend bailed on me at the last minute I had to miss both.

This must be some kind of Japan curse.

This is actually going to be my second time attending as press - the first time was thanks to some business cards I printed out on our dorm's laserjet and my ability to keep a straight face while bullshitting the press representatives. Good thing I have it easier this time around.

We can always rectify either at the dinner (though the later might be a bit tougher considering that 95% of creators are male).
