I love this idea and I think it would go over just fine. Maybe we could try it for one year and see how it goes? It'd be a really neat way for new editors to come to AWA and meet everyone and have some fun and open up.
My only concern is, do we want to keep this as part of the VAT events though? Especially if it fills seats? I guess if you were to do that, there would need to be more of a general audience approach, because a general audience is not going to get a lot of the inside jokes/references. Maybe if you kept it a VAT event, structure everything so that all the jokes have a setup or a story about the editor, so the general audience gets the context? Or show some of their videos and then take digs at those? I think just changing around the presentation a little bit would go a very long way.
