However, since I'm so burned out on anime, I never really get anything in the dealer's room anymore. All I really got at AWA was a darker Naruto headband and a Peter Family Guy action figure which was probably a total of 40 bucks. Rest of the money was spent on food and hotel fees.

Then again not everyone is burned out on anime as I am and tries to grab everything in the dealers room so I guess bringing $400 would be a good start.

*Raises hand* I'll end up going as well. It won't be my first con, but it will be my first AWA. Hell. By the time it rolls around, I'll have my second Zero costume finished. Now if only I had a picture of Absolute Zero so I can show you how bad-ass I'll look... (Yes, I'm probably driving too). So if I end up driving, I may be able to shuttle people from the airport to the hotel.

I'd love to go to AWA next year. I had a great time this year. I'll be moving very very far away by then though, so I'll have to wait and see.

When ever I've gone to a convention, it's actually been on relatively short notice. So I've never been in a con hotel, and I have regretted it, especially at AWA X.

If this is going to morph into a 'are you going to AWA XI' thread, then I may as well say that I am indeed going this year also :) I enjoyed AWA X too much not to.

Well, if things are even a slight bit better for me financially than they are now, I'm sure as hell going next year

So I'll probably watch this thread for further first-timer advice, as it may after all come in handy...

Yeah, might as well throw my hat in and give the old "Me too". I plan on going. I'd like to make it up early enough to make the dinner next year, so hopefully I can swing that. It looks like a lot of fun.

Anyway, as far as hotel in the con goes, Sheraton is cheaper, bigger, and better.
It may be across the street, but you rarely go back to the hotel anyway, so you should be fine.

As far as booking goes, it's basically ASAP. Same for tickets. The longer you wait, the harder they are to get, and the more expensive they are.

Speaking of which, I need to buy my AWA XI tickets... I totally forgot on Sunday...

Got a website, or an adress to said hotel?
