Supanova is far from the only anime convention in Australia that's to say that is not really a convention in the first place. Or even all that anime related. I wouldn't go if you paid me. Anywho, here's where the real action is...

Anime.au April 3 (you just missd it)
AVCon 2004 July 16-18
Manifest August 14-15
Animania October ?
PANIC December ?

A little info on each convention.
Anime.au - This was their first year and quite frankly I haven't heard anything as to how well they went, with the exception of their flop of an AMV comp... better luck next time.

AVCon - Without doubt has the best AMV competition. And an Awesome Quiz Night. I'm not bragging or anything. Drop by and see my panel.

Manifest - This is just plain awesome. If ou only go to one con this year, make it Manifest. Not sure what it is about Manifest, but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun. Definitely best for Cosplay and Karaoke.

Animania - I'm going to be an ass about this and say it outright. They're corporate whores. Boasting figures that are near impossible for a con that has had very little success in the past. the only way I can see them doing this is if they ciombined with Supanova... not that they don't get enough of those kind of fans attending as it is.

PANIC - Seeing as they have no real history to fall back on it's hard to say. This is Deaths_Ally's baby. Maybe he'll drop by and give you some info.

The Dates for PANIC are the 4th and 5th of December this year.

Progress is slowly being made towards the events that will be happening. we already have an unconfirmed guest ( Trevor Devall - He accually approched us.....)

I'm running the AMV competition and panel at PANIC. draft rules are on our forums.
final rules will be online by the end of may.
