I'm pretty sure it's Anime Central which is May 14th - 16th, 2004.

there was also one in october i had gone to, i just wasn't sure if they were still going to have it...

Yeah AnimeReactor or Kazecon. I forget which one and only know about the two since one of them bickers alot and the other doesn't *shrug*.

But yeah the Midwest is pretty sad con-wise and I'm pretty sure ACen (may'04) is the next one at that particular hotel you mentioned.
