Sakura-Con 2025 AMV Exciting News

Hello Everyone,

We have some very exciting news regarding Sakura-Con’s AMV content! For 2025, we are expanding the AMV Department to include even more AMV-related programming!

Many of you may already know, or for those who don’t, that Sakura-Con has had a dedicated AMV Theater since 2007. It has grown to become one of the largest AMV room, seating over 750 people! The AMV Theater has become a staple at Sakura-Con and is very popular with attendees. While we love the popular AMV-themed programming blocks we've hosted in this large space, it’s not ideal for smaller, more intimate, and educational panels (like AMV 101, AMV Spotlight, etc.). Therefore, we are excited to announce the following expansions:

NEW AMV COMMUNITY PANEL ROOM
A smaller room (approximately 100 capacity) will be designated for community AMV-related panels, workshops, gatherings, etc.

NEW AMV OFFICE
We will have our own private office available for individual one-on-one activities, such as peer-to-peer AMV reviews, live editing sessions or competitions, and any other creative ideas we come up with.

MORE STAFF
Additionally, we are expanding our pool of coordinators and staff to manage all of this. We will now operate as our own department under Programming, overseen by a dedicated manager.

I’ll let everyone introduce themselves and reach out in the near future as we would love for everyone to help provide community AMV-related programming and participate in the activities we are planning. We are very excited to expand the world of AMVs and the community at Sakura-Con, and we hope to see everyone there!
