Japanese DVDs?
I am looking for LEGITIMATE japanese anime DVDs, but have no idea where to find them. Is there anywhere that someone who can't read Japanese can buy Japanese DVDs for a reasonable price? I'm completely at a loss and thought this would be the best place to ask.

It all depends on what you consider reasonable. DVDs in Japan sell for what most American consumers think are unreasoable prices (it varies by series though). I second posting in Dokool's thread in the heads up section. I'm not sure how much he's been doing for people lately (he's currently in the US for another day) but I can attest to the fact that he knows where to get cheap DVDs.

I think there are some used media stores that sell some Japanese DVDs called Book-Off. 2 Episodes for $20 to $25, which is really a steal (for Anime). It'd be real hard to find DVDs that cheap even in the bargain bin of most places.
However, I bought the Japanese Pirates of the Caribbean (3-disc set) for a little less than $20 when I was over there. Jack Sparrow in Japanese is not as cool as Jack in English.

It's not that they all have more money, it's just that the sales of media follow the higher cost of living you see in major cities much more than other things. Also Americans are spoiled in terms of low prices - the consumer base here is so large that money can be made on high sales volume rather than high cost items and we have outlandish views on what things should cost because we're so used to big chains like Walmart that stock goods made for dirt cheep in 3rd world countries.

Also, failed to mention it before, DVDs and CDs may cost more, but almost any other piece of merchandise that you'd find at an anime store or convention in the U.S. costs a hell of a lot less.
